When brainstorming ideas, I had two ideas that I had been thinking about.
My first was an idea of an illness that was quite unique and unpopular, I wanted to create something different that would engage the audience and make them want to know what was going on. I wanted the illness or disease to be something that I could research heavily into but also create a storyline around it. I didn't want it to be a 'typical' illness story, therefore wanted to find something that was different, but I would be able to research into so I could pull it off - especially knowing actors would be coming into it not knowing anything about the disease.
My second idea was about someone who would be attacked whilst performing on stage - the audience wouldn't know it wasn't part of the performance, so they would just be enjoying the show. I felt a lot more connection to the second idea and decided to develop more into this one. I first needed to think about why she would be attacked, what's the motive? Will she be killed? If so, will that change the genre of the film? What sort of person is she? Etc...
I was very influenced by the television series Pretty Little Liars as I really liked the idea of someone being stalked. However, I didn't want it to be so much so that she is being followed everywhere, just occasional gifts left for her that could be seen as innocent from her boyfriend or suspicious from a 'stalker'. I began brainstorming ideas and discussing with Vic motives and ideas to build a more clear foundation of the story.
Our story is going to be about a young inspiring performer who is excited for her 'big performance' but becomes distracted as she is being followed/watched by someone and begins receiving gifts and messages. She changes character completely going from a polite, shy young women to an anxious on edge, paranoia person and begins questioning everyone she knows, everyone with a different motive. All the characters will have different personalities which will make the audience question everyone. She will confront people she never would and in her 'big performance' be attacked by the 'stalker' unbeknown to the theatre audience as they all think its part of the show. The ending is going to be open to interpretation as she will be left alone in a room - the audience will question whether she has been pushed to just imagining being stalked, or if she actually was.
After we had thought of a story I began writing out a basic run through of the whole story. I wrote time frames just as a very basic structure. It took a few days and there was a lot of changes as we wanted to make sure everything had a meaning behind it and needed to be in the scene. I wanted the women's boyfriend to be involved in the stalking but thought it was too typical and would ruin the relationship between the two characters, therefore I want to make sure each character is shown to have a motive, and throughout the film the characters suspicious sides will be revealed and shown to see what they was really doing, or if they actually was stalking the main character.

After doing a basic run through, I decided to start writing some basic character profiles so that we would be prepared for our presentation with all our ideas ready.
Here is our presentation that we put together to show to the class.
After the presentation, Vic and I felt quite confident with our project and was happy with the feedback we was given. We got some advice on making sure we don't give too much away, whilst also making sure we keep our idea original, which we have been very picky on so far as when we have thought of some ideas, sometimes we realised it was too similar to another film/television show.
Next, I am going to be looking into screenwriters and producers and gather some tips and information in preparation to begin writing my screenplay.
